Sean brings a wide variety of security, non-profit, and stakeholder engagement experience to the team. He spent 8 years as an Officer in the British Army. Following his service, Sean founded a South African non-profit that implements an innovative development model to help low-income communities leverage their available resources. He subsequently combined his experience in complex security environments with his understanding of community development to form the specialist social risk management consultancy, Trubshaw Cumberlege.

He is an attorney licensed to practice law in Colorado, and has extensive legal experience, including commercial litigation, general liability litigation, environmental law, international law, and corporate social responsibility. Sean is passionate about using his background and ideas to help companies efficiently solve social challenges at their doorsteps to improve stability, increase profitability, and most importantly, create shared value with stakeholders.

Colin has led businesses operating in fragile and complex markets for over 20 years. He was Global Head of Security for DeBeers overseeing security throughout the supply chain from the exploration sites to cyber to the retail stores. He has also held the position of Chief Advisor and member of the executive leadership team at Rio Tinto Diamonds. Colin is passionate about people and spends his time advising businesses facing complex issues and coaching leaders and leadership teams for enhanced performance.

Partner Consultant

Monenus is a prominent analyst and commentator on Ethiopia federalism and youth driven Oromo nationalism. His experience includes social and political research for UN and international academic institutions and lecturing in the Political Science department at Ambo University. Monenus cares deeply about Oromo social and economic development and has a side research passion for the impact of Afaan Oromo education policies on Oromo Nationalism.

Lucy spent her early career at one of the UK’s leading public relations consultancies working with high profile brands. In 2011, Lucy took on the role of Marketing Manager at Buccleuch Estates, with her role quickly evolving into Head of Communications and Community Engagement. In 2020, Lucy stepped into the world of consultancy once again focusing on community engagement in the rural sector. She works with businesses to create positive relationships with their communities and ultimately meet their business objectives. Lucy also sits on the board of Scottish Land and Estates.

Jack is a 20+ year globally experienced veteran of the corporate responsibility field. He specialises in developing sustainability strategy and operational implementation, with a track recorded in small- and large-cap UK listed companies, as well as technical and management consulting. He operates at a senior level, Boards and operational leadership levels, blending internal and external communications, governance, risk management and deep sustainability and ESG change programmes to ensure reputation and risk are enhanced and mitigated. Jack most recently spent nearly 8 years in the mining sector leading ESG transformation programmes.

Elise is one of the world's top 5 lawyers in the field of Business and Human Rights. A career criminal defence attorney based in Washington DC, she supports business corporations in conducting human rights due diligence and advises on issues arising at the nexus between private business and public international law. Elise is also passionate about conflict resolution. She is a mediator certified by the International Mediation Institute (IMI) and the Institut français de certification des médiateurs (IFCM, French Institute for the Certification of Mediators), and partner, member of the mediation center, of the 'Mediation Association Akordial.

Richard brings a lifetime of security experience to the Trubshaw team. Prior to this role, he has been a director in an international security consulting practice, where he was responsible for assessing client operational requirements and providing proportionate, intelligence-led security solutions. He has supported clients in over 26 countries. He has reviewed security strategies, developed security plans and procedures, crisis plans, conducted security awareness training for a wide array of clients including renewable energy developers, mining, oil & gas, FTSE 100 and Fortune 500 companies.
