Trubshaw Managing Director Sean Kelly participated in a successful panel discussion at Invest Africa event

Trubshaw Cumberlege is proud to announce that Managing Director Sean Kelly took part in an informative panel discussion organised by Invest Africa Connect at Mining Indaba 2020 in Cape Town. As a small, but purpose driven consulting firm, Trubshaw Cumberlege always appreciates any opportunity to present to mining companies about how they can maximise profits by addressing social challenges at their doorsteps in a strategic and responsible manner.

During the panel discussion, Sean and the other panelists focused primarily on the nexus between community, social, and security risk in mining and provided insights into the cost and value of rethinking they way security is managed and implemented at large-scale energy, mining, and infrastructure projects. Fellow panelists included Colin Brown, Senior Vice-President, GardaWorld, and Koosum Kalyan, Gardaworld International Advisory Board Member. The panel discussion was moderated by Rob Hersov, Chairman, Invest Africa.

Additional events hosted by Invest Africa at the 2020 Mining Indaba saw the participation of some mining industry heavy-hitters including Robert Friedland (Founder & Executive Co-Chairman, Ivanhoe Mines), Bold Bataar (Chief Executive, Energy and Minerals, Rio Tinto), Jon Qing (Head of Business Development, China Molybdenum), Neil Pereira, Principal Investment Officer, International Finance Corporation, and Olajobi Makinwa (Senior Advisor to the President of the UN General Assembly, Chief, Africa, UN).
